How We Met
In 2009 we met in High School through a mutual friend (Hi Katie!). Angela was impressed with Garrett's tennis skills and Garrett was swooning over a confident, stylish blonde who asked him to Prom. Garrett sealed the deal one day on the tennis courts hitting a tennis ball that said "Be my GF?". Many epic Halloween costumes, five years of long distance in college and some miles on Garrett's Subaru - these two high school sweethearts finally moved in together in San Francisco. Following long distance, the real test began: living in a studio apartment together.
The Proposal
Traveling internationally together was something that we had been talking about forever, but could never do while hustling in college. Garrett would always reminiscence about his high school Europe trip and we both would nerd out watching Rick Steves re-runs - this was the catalyst for our collective fascination with Spain. On our first international getaway together - we traveled to Barcelona, Seville and Mallorca. On the second day of our trip, Garrett planned an elaborate day of sightseeing in Barcelona. Garrett proposed at Laberinto de Horta, Barcelona's oldest park. A photographer was waiting to capture the special moment. Angela was so surprised that Garrett was actually proposing that she thinks she actually blacked out from shock. It was honestly the sweetest surprise- now Barcelona will always have a special place in our hearts!
